Was scanning celeb. photog Terry Richardson’s diary/blog; he recently had a few of a party for SCOTT LIPPS; naturally, I wondered who the bastard was (surrounded by gorgeous women; forced to pose amiably with more people than would stretch my patience; and unusually young to look so successful (o-o) but then again, it is L.A., and success probably comes and goes with the tide). Finally dug up an article by the New York Post on this Scott Lipps, head of modeling agency ONE Model Management– and his story is quite rad.
A short excerpt:
I was 24 and needed work, and a friend of my mom’s set me up with an interview at an agency. I never thought much of it, but within a year I was an agent. It just took off. Then a job at Karin Models brought me back to New York.
How was it starting out?
I had to do everything – put the books together, pick up people at the airport. But I had vision. I was spending a lot of time with the talent, and they were attracting a crowd of musicians and actors. So my idea was to combine all three of those; to encompass more of the entertainment world.
