Linger On Your Pale Blue Eyes

Velvet Underground is fitting today, methinks.

I have this habit of looking down at the shiny slick ground when it rains; the unconscious automatic routine is the result of two reasons:

Practically: I don’t want to slip on my ass. SEE: High school flip-flop days (flip flops 4 lyfe)

Emotionally: It’s through their own pale ignorance that they end up in the middle of a busy pedestrian intersection, but I can’t help but cringe when I think of their gross feeble bodies innocently cloven in two by a bicycle. It must feel worse to be semi-stomped into death. I used to skip to school through fields of squirming worms, and I can’t stand even thinking about the words “worm slaughter”. Seeing their shrivelled bodies on a cheery, sunny day after is also quite sad.

And this is proof that I have too much time on my hands to speculate on dirty-covered worm-souls.

I’m going to watch an awesome movie tonight! It’s by Banksy (the graff artist) and it’s called Exit Through the Gift Shop. Which is funny, because that’s what we did once at the MET to avoid donations. Errr. Shame on us.

Anyway, what Urban Outfitter’s copy of Banksy’s Street Art might not include: a look at Banksy’s public hoaxes and stunts. Aside from his awesome art, that is–

Which is, I might add, for free. And very clever. Location and circumstance are the environment for his pieces.

Gotta practice some stenciling and graff tricks once school gets out of the way!
