Oh, I'm not beyond pop culture-- how can anyone be? And it's not that I refuse to define myself, but how can I define myself? Epitomizing yourself with a stereotype or category is more revealing in how you would like to be seen, and not at all revealing of what you are seen as. And it differs greatly between people you know-- family, friends, co-workers-- most people reflect themselves with great versatility with different people.
